CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Stanford women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 shutout on Sunday against Oregon State at Lorenz Field. The loss drops the Cardinal record to 8-7-2 overall and 3-2-1 in Pac-10 Conference action. The loss is Stanford's first loss against the Beavers in its all-time 11-game series that dates back to 1990.

The OSU score came from Beaver Janelle Joy at the 70:02 mark after taking a pass from Tessa Baker out wide on the right side and dribbling to the center of the box, where she fired the game-winner from 12 yards.

Seniors Allyson Marquand and Brittany Oliveira (three on goal) led the Cardinal with four shot attempts each. Stanford out shot Oregon State 19-7 and notched eight shots on goal to the Beaver's two. Beaver goalkeeper Amy Johnson tallied eight saves against the Cardinal.

Stanford returns to Maloney Field on Oct. 31 against Washington at 7 p.m.
