Cardinal Women Fall To Oklahoma State In Consolation Championship

Myrtle Beach, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team fell to Oklahoma State, 3-2, in the consolation final of the Hooters Match Play Championships in Myrtle Beach, S.C. this afternoon.

The Cardinal recorded individual wins from senior Angela Rho, who defeated Jennifer Karr, 2 and 1, and freshman Jennifer Tangtiphiboontana, who posted a 3 and 2 victory over Mallory Underwood. OSU's Ashley Knoll defeated senior Kim Kouwabunpat 6 and 4 while teammate Lauren Todd fell to Oklahoma State's Annie Thurman, 1 up. Karin Sjodin defeated sophomore Kelly Husted, 2 up.

Stanford ended the match play with a 2-2 team record and went 8-9-3 individually.

The tournament concludes the Cardinal's fall schedule. The squad will resume competiton, February 9-11, at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.
