LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Alesha Robertson scored 18 points Sunday, helping No. 4 Texas Tech beat No. 7 Stanford 55-46 and set a school record for its best start.
The Lady Raiders (11-0) started the 1999-00 season with 10 consecutive wins.
Jametra Clark scored 11 points and Jia Perkins added nine for Texas Tech. Kristen Newlin scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Suminski and Sebnem Kimyacioglu added eight each for the Cardinal.
Texas Tech never trailed, building its largest lead at 36-25 on a drive by Erin Grant early in the second half. Stanford (7-2) drew to 38-36 on a layup by Kelley Suminski with 10:31 left but Tech pulled away.
The Lady Raiders used a 15-2 run in a six-minute span that included 3-pointers by Robertson and Natalie Ritchie and five points by Clark to lead 53-38 with 4:53 remaining.
Stanford's top scorer Nicole Powell injured her left ankle with 6:18 to go in the first half and left the game. She was hurt as she dribbled up the right side and Texas Tech's Casey Jackson stepped on the outside of Powell's left foot.
Texas Tech had managed to neutralize Powell, however. When she left she hadn't scored and had committed four turnovers. The Cardinal finished with 22 turnovers and shot just 19-for-60.
Texas Tech led 30-21 at halftime, fueled by a 10-1 run to lead 18-8 with 9:21 remaining.
