No. 2 Stanford Take 17-6 Win From Pacific

Stockton, Calif. - No. 2 Stanford (13-1, 5-0 MPSF) tallied its fifth Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) win of the season with a 17-6 victory over Pacific (5-14, 0-7 MPSF) today at the Pacific Aquatics Center.

The Tigers scored an early goal, but with a five-goal outing in the first quarter, the Cardinal took an early lead and never looked back. Stanford owned a 6-3 lead at the half before handing out another five goals in the third quarter to take an insurmountable 11-4 lead. Stanford then finished the Tigers off with six goals in the third quarter for its highest point total this season as the Cardinal earned the 17-6 victory.

Junior Brenda Villa netted a season-high six goals to lead all scorers while sophomore Kelty Luber added three. In goal, senior Jackie Frank collected seven saves to keep the Tigers at bay.

The Cardinal will travel south next weekend to take on UC Irvine on Friday, April 4th at 4 p.m. and Long Beach State on Saturday, April 5th at noon.
