Jill Camarena, Sara Bei, Ian Dobson Earn All-America Honors at NCAA's

Fayetteville, Ark - It was another successful day on Saturday for members of the Stanford track & field team who were competing at the 2004 NCAA Indoor Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center at the University of Arkansas.

Sara Bei gained All-America honors for a second straight day with a second place finish in the 3,000 meters. Bei finished in a time of 9:05.02. Kim Smith of Providence, who a day earlier won the 5,000 meters, won the 3,000 meters on Saturday in a time of 8:49.18. Bei had gained All-American honors on Friday as she anchored the distance medley relay team to a second place finish in a time of 11:07.15, the third-best time in school history.

Jill Camarena finished second in the shot put with a throw of 56-8 (17.27m). Laura Gerraughty of North Carolina won the competition with a throw of 62-10 (19.15m). For Camarena, it was her sixth All-America honor.

Ian Dobson finished fifth in the 3,000 meters on Saturday to gain All-America honors for a second straight day. On Friday, Dobson finished second in the 5,000 meters in a school record time of 13:40.91. Dobson finished the 3,000 meters in a time of 8:04.49. Alistair Cragg of Arkansas, who won the 5,000 meters on Friday, won the 3,000 meters on Saturday in a time of 7:55.29. Donald Sage finished eleventh (8:16.18) while Chris Emme placed 13th (8:19.61).

The Stanford women's team finished seventh in the team competition with 30 points. LSU won the national title with 52 points. Stanford's men's team finished 19th with 12 points. LSU won the men's national title with 44.50 points.
