Salinas, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team shot rounds of 297 and 304 on the first day of competition at the San Jose State Spartan Invitational in Salinas, Calif. at the Corral de Tierra Country Club. The Cardinal are in fifth place with a two-round total of 601. UCLA leads the field with a three-under par 573, followed by California (582), UNLV (588) and Washington (593).

Bruin Charlotte Mayorkas leads the field with a five-under par 139, followed by California's Sophie Andersson who is two strokes back with a 141. Three players are tied for third with a one-under par 143.

Senior Angela Rho shot rounds of 70 and 75 and is tied for seventh individually with a 145. Fellow senior Kim Kouwabunpat checks in tied for 18th with a 150 (76-74) while freshman Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana is tied for 31st (75-77--152). Wendra Liang, competing as an individual, is tied for 35th (75-78--153). Freshman Lauren Todd carded a 154 (76-78) and is tied for 41st. Teammate Stephanie Lue is tied for 46th (77-78--155).

Third round action continues tomorrow at the Corral de Tierra Country Club.
