No. 10 Stanford Falls To Pacific, 3-0

STOCKTON, Calif. - The No. 10 ranked Stanford University men's volleyball team fell to the Pacific Tigers, 3-0 at the Alex G. Spanos Center, Wednesday night. Game scores for the match were 30-28, 30-28, and 30-25. With the loss, the Cardinal fall to 9-17 on the season and 6-15 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play. The Tigers improve to 9-19 on the year and 5-16 in MPSF action.

The Tigers grabbed game one by the score of 30-28. Both teams came out swinging in the first game as the Cardinal hit .342, while the Tigers posted a .372 hitting percentage. The Cardinal were able to keep game two close despite hitting just .179 for game two. Pacific closed out the match by hitting a blistering .516 en route to capturing game three, 30-25.

For the match, the Cardinal hit .281, while the Tigers registered a .376 hitting percentage.

Junior outside hitter David Vogel led the Cardinal with 12 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Ben Reddy and junior middle blocker Craig Buell chipped in nine and eight kills, respectively. Redshirt junior setter Kevin Hansen recorded team-highs of 43 assists and seven digs.

The Tigers were paced by Brian Zodrow who hammered home a game-high 23 kills, while Mauricio Brizuela and Sean Rodgers added 11 and 10 kills, respectively.

The Cardinal will get a rematch with Pacific as the Tigers head to The Farm on Saturday for the regular season finale for both teams. The Cardinal will be playing for a shot at the eighth and final spot in the MPSF Championship tournament. First serve will be at 7:00 pm in Burnham Pavilion.
