Walnut, Ca - Three Stanford athletes competed at the Mt. Sac Relays Decathlon Championships, and the California Invitational Decathlon and Heptathlon Championships with Nicholas Taylor producing the top effort.
At the California Invitational Decathlon Championships at Azusa Pacific College, Taylor tallied a career-high 6,326 points to place 14th among 28 competitiors. Taylor's previous best was 6,081 points set last year. Taylor's best effort during the two day competition was 823 points in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.22. Octavious Gillespie of Guatemala won the two-day, ten-event competition with 7,364 points.
Timi Wusu chalked up a ninth place finish with 6,139 points at the Mt. Sac Relays Decathlon Championships. Wusu's top effort among ten events was 785 points in the high jump with a leap of 6-6 (1.98m). Phil McMullen, representing Nike, won the competition among nine other competitors with 7,937 points.
Ahimsa Hodari finished 13th among 21 heptathletes with 4,215 points at the California Invitational Championships. Hodari's best event in the seven-event competition was the first event of the competition, the 100 meter hurdles (16.30) with 678 points.
