Jill Camarena Wins Shot Put Competition At Pomona-Pitzer Invitational

Pomona, Ca - Jill Camarena registered another victory in the shot put on Friday night at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.

Camarena, a six-time All-American, had a throw of 55-10 1/2 (17.03m), her second-best effort of the year.

Two Stanford runners achieved post-season status. Freshman Keisha Gaines ran the fifth-best time in school history with a 54.43 in the 400 meters, an NCAA Regional qualifying time while Janice Davis ran 54.84, a Pac-10 qualifying standard.

In the field events, Jessica Pluth achieved an NCAA Regional mark with a throw of 188-2 (57.36m) in the hammer, a season-best.
