Cardinal Women In Eighth After Two Rounds At PING/ASU Invite

Tempe, Ariz. - The Stanford women's golf team shot rounds of 300 and 295 today at the PING/ASU Invitational at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz. Their two round total of 595 puts them in eighth place in the team standings. UCLA leads the field with a three-over par 579, followed by Southern California (582), New Mexico (588), California (592), Texas (593) and Arizona (593).

Washington's Paige MacKenzie sits atop the individual leaderboard at three-under par 140. Pepperdine's Carolina Llano is second (141) one stroke back, followed by Erica Blasberg (Arizona), Lisa Ferrero (Texas) Charlotte Mayorkas (UCLA) and Gina Umeck (UCLA) who are all at two under par 142.

The Cardinal was led by senior Angela Rho who shot rounds of 72 and 75 for a total of 147. She is tied for 16th. Fellow senior Kim Kouwabunpat is tied for 24th with a 149 (76-73), along with teammate Stephanie Lue (74-75--149). Freshman Lauren Todd is tied for 37th (79-72--151) while frosh Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana is tied for 55th (78-76--154). Wendra Liang, who is competing as an individual, is tied for 68th (74-82--156).

Action concludes tomorrow at the Karsten Golf Course with the final 18 holes in Tempe.
