San Luis Obispo, Ca - At the Cal-Nevada Championships at Cal Poly on Saturday, Jason Goff was Stanford's only competitor of the day with competition in the javelin. Goff finished second with a career-best throw of 217-5 (66.26m).
Since the start of the 2004 outdoor season, Goff has increased his career best throw in the javelin from 205-9 (62.71m) last year, to 209-10 (63.96m) at the Bay Area Blast (3/20/04) to 210-3 (64.08m) at the Stanford Invitational, and to 217-5 (66.26m) at the Cal-Nevada meet.
Competition for several Stanford athletes will continue on Sunday at Cal Poly.
At the Texas Relays on Saturday, Stanford's women's 4 x 400 meter relay team set a school record time of 3:33.81 in placing fourth on Saturday at the Texas Relays.
The Cardinal women beat the school record of 3:34.82 set last year. Texas set an NCAA record in winning the event with a time of 3:23.75.
Jill Camarena finished second in the shot put with a throw of 54-8 3/4 (16.68m). Becky Breisch of Nebraska won the competition with a toss of 57-4 1/4 (17.48m).
