Follow Amber Through The Semifinals
ATHENS, Ga. - The 2003 NCAA Singles Champion Amber Liu eased into the semifinal bracket of the 2004 NCAA Singles Championship with a straight-set victory in the quarterfinals on Thursday at the University of Georgia.
"We played each other (Audra Falk) in the team event, and I feel like that really helped us know each others' game a little better," Liu said. "I think I played a lot better today than I did in the team event. We've both played about the same amount of tennis so we had the same amount of fatigue. I'm just trying to make that last push to finish the year strong."
Seeded No. 4 in the Tournament, sophomore Liu defeated Vanderbilt's Audra Falk 6-1, 6-3. She will advance to face Julie Coin of Clemson in semifinal action on Friday.
