* St. John's picks up their first postseason win under Ed Blankmeyer and their first postseason win for the program since 1993 (versus Cal State Northridge).
* Joe Ried fails to get out of the fith inning for the third straight start and ties a season high with six walks.
* First baseman Eddie Shultz hits homeruns in back to back games for the first time this season.
UNLV
* UNLV is eliminated from the NCAA postseason tournament with two losses, one to Stanford (10-4 last night) and today's loss to St. John's.
* The Rebel's big three hitters (Eric Nielsen, Brent Johnson, and Ryan Ruiz) combine for only three hits in their two games at the regional.
* UNLV's pitching staff allows 9 or more runs for the fourth time in their last six games.
