Los Angeles, Calif. - Stanford dropped a 1-0 decision to UCLA tonight at Drake Stadium, as the Cardinal fall to 9-4-2 on the season and 1-2-1 in the Pac-10. The Bruins improve to 11-4-0 overall and 4-1-0 in conference play.
Stanford keeper Nicole Barnhart (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) faced a barrage of shots, picking up a season-high 10 saves as the Bruins posted 19 shots. The two-time All-American fended off ten shots on goal before Bristyn Davis converted the go-ahead goal in the 86th minute.
Stanford's Leah Tapscott (Madison, Wis./James Madison Memorial) notched Stanford's lone shot on goal in the first half.
The Cardinal will face off against USC on Sunday at 1 p.m.
