Boston, MA - The Stanford Women's Crew team competed in the 40th annual Head of the Charles Regatta Sunday. Windy conditions caused the regatta organizers to shorten the three-mile course by seven-tenths of a mile into calmer waters. The Cardinal fought hard against a charging boat from Virginia and then settled into a solid rhythm, gaining back ground over the second half of the race and finished 11th out of 35 collegiate entries. Princeton, Yale, and Virginia were the top three collegiate finishers.
Stanford will see racing action this Saturday at the Head of the American on Lake Natoma in Rancho Cordova.
