Ogonna Nnamani Sets Pac-10 Career Record For Kills In 3-0 Win Over ASU

Tempe, Ariz. - Senior outside hitter notched 14 kills tonight to become the Pac-10 career record holder with 2,263 as the seventh-ranked Stanford women's volleyball team swept Arizona State, 3-0, tonight in Tempe, Arizona. Game scores were 30-16, 30-24, 30-20. The Cardinal improve to 233-6 overall, 14-3 in the Pac-10 while the Sun Devils fall to 10-16, 5-12 in league action.

Nnamani also broke the single season record in kills on the Farm with 636 this year. She held the previous high mark of 622 (2003).

Stanford held the Sun Devils to a .062 hitting percentage for the match with tough serving and a solid block at the net. The Cardinal hit .291 for the match and outblocked ASU, 10 to four.

Nnamani recorded a double-double on the night with her 14 kills and 10 digs. She added three blocks and two service aces as well. Kristin Richards had 12 kills and 12 digs as well as three service aces to the Cardinal effort. Freshman Franci Girard led the team with four blocks and eight kills (8-1-10) while hitting .700 on the night.

ASU was led by Nicole Morton's 10 kills and Stephanie Kohner's 11 digs.

The Cardinal is back in action tomorrow night in Tucson, Arizona, at 7 p.m. (local time) as they take on No. 21 Arizona.
