No. 12 Stanford Volleyball Tops No. 16 UCLA, 3-2

Stanford, Calif. - Sophomore middle blocker Lizzie Suiter matched her career-best with 10 blocks as the 12th-ranked Stanford women's volleyball team topped No. 16 UCLA, 3-2, tonight before a sell out crowd at Burnham Pavilion. Game scores were 25-30, 30-25, 32-30, 25-30, 15-8. The Cardinal improve to 16-6 overall, 8-3 in the Pac-10 while the Bruins fall to 14-8, 7-5 in league play.

Senior outside hitter Ogonna Nnamani (Normal, IL) led the match with 24 kills and added 14 digs to record her ninth double-double on the year. Sophomore outside hitter Kristin Richards (Orem, UT) also notched a double-double with 23 kills and a team-high 19 digs. Senior opposite hitter Jennifer Hucke (Fallon, NV) chipped in 16 kills and tied her season-high in blocks with six.

UCLA was led by Becky Green's 18 kills and Chrissie Zartman's match-best 23 digs. Nancy Barba chipped in 14 kills while Bryn Murphy tallied 13 on the evening. Nan Meriwether led the squad with nine blocks.

Stanford is back in action tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in Burnham Pavilion where they will take on No. 4 USC.
