Stanford Gets A Warm-Up For The 2005 Season

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford brought in the New Year with a 3-0 (30-13, 30-14, 30-25) victory over Cal Poly in Burnham Pavilion. The Cardinal hosted the visiting Mustangs in an exhibition match to set in motion the 2005 Season.

Offensively the Cardinal were paced by middle blocker, Craig Buell tallying 11 kills on 16 attempts, posting a .625 hitting percentage. Ben Reddy added five service aces, including three that sealed game two of the match.

The team travels to Santa Barbara this weekend to compete in the Elephant Bar Invitational hosted by UCSB that will feature many of the nation's top men's volleyball programs. All but one of the eight participating teams finished the 2004 season ranked in the top 15 in the country.
