Berkeley, Calif. - No. 8 Stanford (3-3) took third place at theNakamori Invitational tonight in Haas Pavilion, behind top-rankedOhio State and No. 7 California. The Cardinal finished with a213.950, just behind the Buckeyes' 215.350 and the Golden Bears'214.450.
Stanford freshman Jason Shen posted a 9.5 on vault to tie with OhioState's Jimmy Wickham for first place, while sophomore Dylan Carneyposted a third-place finish, scoring a 9.3.
Fellow Cardinal freshman Sho Nakamori placed on two events, scoring a9.15 on floor and a 9.3 on parallel bars to claim second place onboth events. On still rings, Stanford snagged two top-placers withAlex Schorsch taking second with a 9.45 and David Sender capturingthird with a 9.35.
Stanford will be on the road again next week as the Cardinal travelto Colorado Springs to face Air Force. The Falcons competed at theCardinal Open on Jan. 23, posting a third-place finish in thecollegiate division behind Cal and Stanford. Next Saturday's meet isset to begin at noon.
