Janice Davis, Wopamo Osaisai, Nick Sebes Set School Records In Arkansas And Seattle

Fayetteville, Ar - Janice Davis continued her assault on the Cardinal record book in the 200 meters with a time of 23.70 on Saturday at the Arkansas Tyson Invitational. Davis' time broke the previous record of 23.88 by Ashley Purnell in 2003.

Only last week at the New York Armory Invitational, Davis ran 7.32 in the 60 meters to set the school record.

Another school record was set at the Arkansas meet when freshman Wopamo Osaisai ran 6.87 in the 60 meters to break the old record of 6.88 by Milton Little in 2003.

In Seattle at the Husky Classic, Nick Sebes ran 46.97 in the 400 meters to break the school record of 47.06 by Rene Rodriguez in 1994.

Several other Stanford athletes performed with excellent results. At the Husky Classic, Alicia Craig, the two-time NCAA champion in the outdoor 10,000 meters, ran her first race of the 2005 indoor season with an NCAA qualifying time of 15:54.72 in winning the 5,000 meters. Anita Siraki finished sixth with an NCAA qualifying time of 16:07.18. Ryan Hall made his 2005 indoor debut a successful one with an NCAA provisional time of 8:02.63 in the 3,000 meters. The men's distance medley relay team ran an NCAA provisional time of 9:33.49. That time was fifth-best in shcool history.
