Erica McLain Sets Another School Record in Triple Jump

New York, NY - Erica McLain continued her early 2005 indoor track & field success with a school record first place finish in the triple jump on Saturday at the New York Armory Invitational.

McLain, the three-time Texas state prep champion in the triple jump, won the competition with a leap of 44-11 (13.69m). Last week at the Boise Indoor Invitational, McLain, a freshman, set the then school record in her first collegiate competition with a leap of 43-10 1/2 (13.37m).

Janice Davis finished fourth in the 200 meters with a school record time of 23.82. Davis broke the old record of 23.88 by Ashley Purnell in 2003. On Friday night, Davis set the school record in the prelims of the 60 meters with a time of 7.32. Laura Mottaz won the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:12.33.

Cardinal Catalogue: In addition to two school records set during the weekend, several indoor top ten times in the Stanford record book were accomplished ...
