Northridge, Calif. - Stanford improved to 8-9 (7-7 MPSF) after defeating the Matadors of Cal State Northridge 3-1. The victory builds on a winning streak where the Cardinal have dropped only two games in four matches.

Statistically the Cardinal was led by Kevin Hansen, posting 13 digs and 49 assists. The majority of the offense came from Ben Reddy's 19 kills. David Vogel and Craig Buell each added 11 kills with Chris Ahlfeldt adding eight kills, six block assists, and two solos. The Cardinal out-blocked the Matadors by 6.5 which proved to decide the match between the teams' near equal hitting percentages (Stan- .320, CSUN- .329).

Stanford does not get much time to rest, as they will meet the No. 5 ranked UC Santa Barbara Gauchos tomorrow. The last match between the Cardinal and the Gauchos ended in a heartbreaking five-game defeat for Stanford.
