Women Place Two In Grand Final At The San Diego Crew Classic

San Diego, CA - The Stanford Women advanced both the first varsity and the second varsity to the Grand Finals this morning at the 32nd annual San Diego Crew Classic.

The first varsity lead from start to finish in a tightly contested heat of the Jessop-Whittier Cup which included #13 Stanford, #19 UCLA, #10 Tennessee, #17 Texas and Purdue with three advancing to the Grand Final. Stanford was followed closely by both UCLA and Tennessee. These boats will join #8 California, #14 USC, and #16 Washington State, the qualifiers from the other heat, in Sunday's Grand Final at 1:50 pm.

The second varsity also led from start to finish in their heat which qualified two to Sunday's Grand Final. There were three heats in this event. The Grand Final will include Stanford, UCLA, USC, Cal, WSU, USC, and Texas and will be at 12:40 pm.
