Susanna McFarlane & Benjamin Dickens Win At Johnny Mathis Invitational

San Francisco, Ca - It was a light day of activity on Saturday for the Stanford men's and women's track & field teams.

Six athletes competed at the Johnny Mathis Invitational at San Francisco State, while Michael Robertson competed at the Arlington Invitational in Texas.

At the conclusion of the day, Robertson beat 24 other competitors to win the competition in the discus (192-3, 58.59m). Robertson, a junior, is a transfer from SMU who finished third in the discus at the 2004 NCAA Championships (195-2, 59.48m). Last week at the Stanford Invitational, Robertson threw the discus an NCAA qualifying throw of 192-8 (58.74m). That throw is fourth-best in school history.

At the Johnny Mathis Invitational, Susanna McFarlane won the women's pole vault (12-5 1/2, 3.80m), while Benjamin Dickens won the men's pole vault (16-0 3/4, 4.90). McFarlane's vault was an NCAA regional qualifying mark.
