Series Notes: Stanford has won nine of the last 10 games played between the teams after opening the 2005 series with a 2-1 victory over the Huskies on Friday Stanford has also won all three of the previous series played between the teams at Sunken Diamond since the Pac-10 North and South Divisions merged in 1999 In addition, Stanford has the only two series sweeps (2000, '01) in the six seasons since the Pac-10 merge However, Washington has taken two of the last three season series overall against the Cardinal, winning two-of-three in Seattle in both 2002 and 2004 The teams also played twice in Pac-10 playoffs between the North and South Divisions in 1997 and 1998 with Washington taking both series and four of the five contests played between the clubs
