The Stanford Women will compete at the 2005 NCAA Championship thisweekend at Lake Natoma in Rancho Cordova, CA. Based on their secondplace Pac-10 Championship finish the Cardinal earned the opportunityto compete against the top fifteen eights from the five regions thatcomprise Division I women's rowing. The Stanford boat was rankedNo. 8 in the May 18 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Poll.
The Cardinal will race in one of three preliminary heats on Fridaymorning with the top three boats from each advancing to Saturday'ssemi-final. On Saturday, the top three finishers from each of the twosemi-finals advance to the grand final on Sunday.
The Cardinal last appeared at the 2003 NCAA and finished third in thevarsity eight event.
