Amber Liu and Anne Yelsey, Stanford
Amber Liu
"We had very few unforced errors and we moved well out there. We covered the court well and Anne is solid at the net."
Anne Yelsey
"We played them in April in a dual match and we squeak it out 9-8. Today we played much better but they had a few injuries to deal with and Riza (Zalameda) had a long singles match that went three sets."
Ana Cetnik and Story Tweedie-Yates, TCU (Barnes/Burdette semifinal opponents)
Story Tweedie-Yates
"Ana [Cetnik] was helping to motivate me today. She was just killing the ball out there so I just wanted to keep pace. I was feeding a lot off of her positive energy. Although I played at Stanford, I haven't played with Erin [Burdette] and I only played with Alice [Barnes] one time in a doubles tournament."
No. 4 Daniela Bercek and Riza Zalameda, UCLA (Lost to Liu/Yelsey in the Quarterfinals)
Riza Zalameda
"They played really well today. We didn't play our game today, but give them credit they took advantage of it.
"I just wrapped my leg today because it felt a little sore after the singles. It's not an injury just more a precautionary thing. It's obviously not a big deal since I took it off half-way through the match and still moved fine. It was just cumbersome out there on the court.
Alice Barnes and Erin Burdette, Stanford
Alice Barnes
"We played well today I thought. We were riding a lot of momentum into this match after beating the No. 1 seed yesterday. I felt like we got on top early and stayed there.
"At the beginning of the year I think we had high confidence that we could win this tournament. We made it to the finals of the indoor tournament and felt like we could beat anybody. Then we had some problems with injuries and didn't play together for a few months during the year. Then I would say that we readjusted our goals. With Erin [Burdette] healthy and after beating Georgia yesterday I think we're confident that we can beat anybody.
"I'm one of the few players who likes to look at the draw in advance. I have looked ahead a little bit. We know who we play next. It's also good to see that the other team [Stanford's Liu and Yelsey] is on the other side of the draw. It's not like when I saw Erin for the second round of the singles tournament. That worried me because I've never beaten her in any competition - friendly or otherwise!"
Erin Burdette
"We were confident after we pulled out a tough match yesterday. It really helped our confidence. It's really nice to be healthy and to be finishing out my career in my home state. It's nice having my family here since it's hard for them to make it out to the West Coast. After winning the team title, any doubles awards are just icing on the cake."
