College Park, MD - Tiffany Marsh led the Terrapins (7-0) with three goals as Maryland topped Stanford, 6-0, at the Terrapin Invitational.
Maryland's Sarah Scholl scored first for the Terrapins at 2:38 off of a deflection to put the Terrapins in the lead. Tiffany Marsh scored her first unassisted goal of the game at 14:57. Paula Infante followed with a goal at 20:22 off of a penalty corner, assisted by Tiffany Marsh and Janneke van Leeuwen. Tiffany Marsh scored again for Maryland with a diving shot at 29:43 and unassisted in the second half at 59:47. Jackie Ciconte scored her sixth goal of the season at 64:28 off of an assist by Tiffany Marsh.
Maryland out shot the Cardinal 24-1. Tiffany Marsh led the Terrapins with seven shots, followed by Susie Rowe and Janneke van Leeuwen with four shots each. Jess Zutz had one shot for the Cardinal.
Maryland picked up eight penalty corners, while Stanford had two penalty corners in the second half of the game.
In one period of play, Madison Bell notched seven saves, bringing her season total to 34 saves. Freshman Sarah Scheller tallied three saves.
The Cardinal remains in College Park as it takes on Bucknell on Tuesday, September 13 (7:00 pm, ET).
