Stanford, Calif. - Leo Totev's goal in the 13th minute gave visiting Washington the 1-0 win over the Stanford men's soccer team tonight at Maloney Field before a crowd of 651 fans. The Cardinal, still looking for their first conference win, drop to 3-7-2 overall, 0-3-1 in the Pac-10. The Huskies improve to 7-3-1 and 1-2-1 in league action.
Marcus Ryan, Ryan Oblak, Michael Brown, Cooper McKee and Scott Bolkan accounted for Stanford's five shots on the night with Ryan and Oblak registering a shot on goal.
Cardinal netminder Andrew Kartunen made five saves in 90 minutes in goal. The Huskies Chris Eylander picked up two saves in net.
Stanford is back in action on Sunday against Oregon State at 1 p.m. at Maloney Field. The Beavers fell to California tonight in Berkeley, 2-0.
The Cardinal will be looking for some more offense against OSU on Sunday as they have not scored a goal since a 1-1 tie with San Diego State on September 30. Stanford will try to break a three game losing skid.
