Stanford, Calif. - All four of Stanford's returning All-Americans posted wins yesterday on the first day of competition at the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northwest Women's Regional Championships at the Taube Tennis Center.
In singles, junior Theresa Logar and sophomore Lejla Hodzic, along with newcomers Celia Durkin and JessicaNguyen, each posted a win to advance to the Round of 32.
In doubles, three Cardinal pairs advanced to the Round of 16, as Alice Barnes and Anne Yelsey teamed up for an 8-1 victory over Idaho's Karen Konishi and Efrat Leopold, Durkin and Liu combined for an 8-0 win over Oregon's Anna Powaska and Carmen Seremeta, and Logar and Nguyen posted an 8-0 decision over Jennifer Jolley and Sayaka Yoshimoto.
Stanford will continue in the main draw on Saturday.
