Stanford Forces 0-0 Draw Against No. 4 UCLA

Stanford, Calif. - For only the third time this season, No. 4 UCLA walked off the field without a win. Today, it was Stanford's chance and the Cardinal battled the Bruins battled to a 0-0 tie after 110 minutes of soccer this afternoon at Maloney Field.

UCLA is now 15-1-2 on the season, with a 5-0-2 mark in the conference, while Stanford takes an 8-6-3 record with a 2-3-2 mark in the Pac-10 heading into the final weekend of the regular season.

The Cardinal took control of the game early and dominated on the offensive side of the field, out-shooting the Bruins 6-1 in the first half. Three of Stanford's shots in the first 20 minutes narrowly missed the net, but both teams kept fighting in the second half, with Stanford tacking on another five shots and sophomore keeper Erica Holland recording up three of her four saves.

In overtime, the Cardinal took another two strong shots, but the match ended with both teams locked at 0.

Stanford will travel north next weekend for its final weekend of Pac-10 play, with a Friday afternoon match at Oregon State and a Sunday afternoon contest at Oregon.
