Eugene, Ore. - Stanford closed out the regular season with a 2-0 victory at Oregon this afternoon. The Cardinal improves to 10-6-3 overall, with a 4-3-2 record in the Pac-10, while Oregon drops to 9-9-1 with a 1-7-0 mark in league play.
Freshman Kelley Birch scored her second goal in as many games, as she netted the game-winner in the 30th minute. Senior Martha West assisted on Birch's goal and then added an insurance goal for the Cardinal in the 70th minute.
Sophomore Erica Holland and senior Elizabeth Barnard combined for a shutout, as the Cardinal out-shot the Ducks, 16-6. Holland picked up two saves.
With the end of the regular season, Stanford awaits the announcement of the NCAA Tournament field tomorrow between 2-2:30 p.m. on ESPNews.
