EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Candice Wiggins scored a career-high 37 points to rally No. 16 Stanford to a 76-64 victory over Oregon at McArthur Court on Saturday night.
Wiggins finished with a career-best 14 field goals on 21 attempts, lifting the Cardinal (10-4, 5-1 Pac-10) into first place in the conference.
She added seven rebounds and five assists in 39 minutes. Brooke Smith had 15 points and Krista Rappahahn added 10 for Stanford. The Cardinal snapped a two-game losing skid at Mac Court.
Carolyn Ganes and Chelsea Wagner had 15 points each for Oregon (10-4, 1-3).
Wiggins scored nine points in an 11-4 Stanford run late in the second half, pulling the Cardinal out of a 56-50 deficit.
After Wiggins sank a 3-pointer to give Stanford a 64-60 edge, freshman Jillian Harmon stole a pass and assisted on Rappahahn's 3-pointer to push the Cardinal lead to 67-60 with 3:46 left.
The Cardinal hit 6-of-8 free-throw attempts in the final 1:03 to seal it.
Stanford shot 51 percent from the field (25-51) against the Pac-10's top-ranked scoring defense.
Smith scored 13 first-half points, sparking a 10-0 run to give Stanford an early 15-5 lead.
Wagner scored eight consecutive points including two 3-pointers in less than two minutes to cut the Stanford lead to 15-13.
Carolyn Ganes rattled in a 3-pointer with 8:30 left in the first half to give the Ducks their first lead at 24-21.
Oregon took its biggest lead at 37-30 on a Kedzie Gunderson three-point play with 2:15 to go in the half.
Wiggins, who had 16 points in the first half, scored 11 of Stanford's final 12 points of the half to bring the Cardinal within 37-35 at the break.
