Stanford Adds Victory for 88 Match Winning Streak

Top-ranked Stanford grabbed its 63rd straight win this afternoon at Taube Tennis Center with a 7-0 victory over No. 38th-ranked University of Nevada, Las Vegas. This match also improves their home court dual-match winning streak to 88.

The Cardinal swept doubles 3-0, allowing only four of the 28 games go to the Rebels. The greatest triumph was by Amber Liu and Jessica Nguyen who defeated Cindy Treber and Linda Tempelfelde 8-0.

In singles, Stanford won all six matches. Jessica Nguyen finished first with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Claire Smith. In the match between Whitney Deason and Cindy Treber, Treber put up a strong fight and took one game 3-6.

The Cardinal will return to action in Las Angeles on Friday, February 17th against the University of Southern California.
