Seattle, Wa - For the fourth straight season, the Stanford women's indoor track & field team captured the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championship on Saturday afternoon at the University of Washington.

Fueled by wins by Chauntae Bayne in the 60 meters, Janice Davis in the 200 meters, the 1600 meter relay team, Erica McLain in the triple jump, and Arianna Lambie in the mile and 3000 meters, the Stanford women collected 161 points to defeat runnerup Arizona State by 46 points. ASU had started the day with a 32 point lead over the Cardinal.

Lambie defended her MPSF title in the mile as she led a 1-2-3 finish for Stanford. Lambie ran the distance in 4:44.27 followed by Lauren Centrowitz at 4:46.00 and Alicia Follmar at 4:46.92. Katy Trotter's time of 9:12.36 and Amanda Trotter's time of 9:13.76 in the 3000 meters are eighth and ninth best, respectively, in school history.

Bayne ran the second-fastest 60 meters in school history with a time of 7.31 in winning the league crown. In the 200 meters, Janice Davis ran the second-fastest time (23.46) in school history in giving Stanford the win. Bayne and Davis then ran the third and fourth legs on Stanford's winning 1600 meter relay team in a time of 3:36.80 (#2 all-time at Stanford).

Erica McLain captured her second straight league title in the triple jump with an NCAA automatic qualifying standard of 43-9 3/4 (13.35m). McLain, on Friday, won the league title in the long jump for a second straight time.

The Stanford men also performed well. Stanford finished second for the second straight year with 100 points, only seven back of league champion Washington. Victories by Russell Brown in the mile (4:02.54) and Jacob Gomez in the 3000 meters (7:55.26) helped the Cardinal cause. The Cardinal also produced second and third place finishers in the 3000 meters with Neftalem Araia (7:56.11) and Jonathan Piece (7:59.19), and a runnerup finish by Graeme Hoste in the pole vault (17-7, 5.36m) providing important team points.
