Omaha, Ne - Chauntae Bayne set a school and meet record in winning the 200 meters and also captured the 60 meters during second day action on Saturday at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational at the University of Nebraska.
Bayne won the 200 meters in 23.50 which bested the previous school record of 23.70 set by Janice Davis last year. Baynes' time was an NCAA provisional qualifying effort. Jakki Bailey finished third in a career-best time of 24.02 (#3 all-time at Stanford).
Bayne won the 60 meters in a time of 7.39 while Bailey finished third and Davis in fourth. Bailey and Davis were timed in 7:48.
Freshman Lauren Stewart won the triple jump with an effort of 41-3 3/4 (12.59m). That mark is third-best in school history. Graeme Hoste won the pole vault with a career-best effort of 17-7 3/4 (5.38m), more than seven inches better than his previous best of 17-0 3/4 (4.45m) earlier this year.
