Stanford Women Set DMR School Record At Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa - The long time Stanford record in the women's distance medley relay has been broken.

The old record, which was set by Sally Glynn, Danielle Spurlock, Lindsay Hyatt and Lauren Fleshman, stood at 11:06.23 for the past six years. But on Thursday afternoon at the Penn Relays, the Stanford team of Katy Trotter, Janice Davis, Ashley Freeman and Arianna Lambie established the new record in a time of 10:58.72.

The Cardinal DMR team finished second among 13 squads. Villanova won the race in a time of 10:57.02.

Davis also competed on the opening leg of the 400 meter relay team on Thursday morning. Stanford (Janice Davis, Chauntae Bayne-Hackett, Jakki Bailey, Ashley Purnell) produced a time of 45.68 in the morning heats. Stanford's time was ranked tenth among 78 schools that competed. Texas had the best time at 43.84.
