Freshman Matt Bruch (Lake Forest, IL/Lake Forest) of the Stanford Men's Tennis Team was selected as the Stanford/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 25-May 1.
Bruch beat teammate James Wan Sunday to win the Pacific-10 Conference singles championship in Ojai, CA. Bruch won five matches in four days to claim the singles title. He beat Wan 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-0 to become the second consecutive Pac-10 singles champion from Stanford.
This is Bruch's first Stanford/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor. Bruch and the rest of the Cardinal Men's Tennis Team compete next in the NCAA first and second rounds on May 13-14, sites to be announced.
