Sacramento, Ca - Janice Davis had a career-day on Friday afternoon competing at the Hornet Track & Field Open at Sacramento State University.
Davis ran a career-best 11.42 in the 100 meters and a career-best 23.48 in the 200 meters in winning both events. Davis' time in the 100 meters beat her previous career-best of 11.47 and is third-best in school history. Her time of 23.48 beat her previous best time of 23.62 and is fourth-best in school history.
Both times were also NCAA West Regional qualifying efforts.
Keith Avila set a career-best with a throw of 198-2 (60.41m) in the javelin. That mark was also fifth-best in school history, and easily beat his previous best of 194-11 (59.41m) set last year.
On Saturday, Josh Hustedt will compete in the decathlon, and freshman Lauren Stewart will compete in the heptathlon at the Pac-10 Multi-Event Championship at the University of Oregon. Hustedt has a season and career-best mark of 7,070 points while Stewart has a career-best point total of 5,110 points.
