HEAD COACH MARK MARQUESS
Opening comments
"This was a great game tonight. It's just one of those things where we gave them a couple of extra outs and they took advantage of it as good teams do. We've been playing pretty good defense, but we made a couple of errors [tonight] that came back to bite us because two of those guys came back to score."

On the how the game played out
"This was a great college baseball game, but unfortunately we came up a little bit short. They did what they needed to do in those spots with guys in scoring position and came up with some big hits. That was the difference in the game."

On the importance of winning the Super Regional opener
"You always want to win game one. In a best two-of-three that's huge obviously. They got that game; it's a huge advantage, [but] hopefully we can bounce back tomorrow night and win one to even the series up."

On Stanford starting pitcher Greg Reynolds
"I thought Greg hung in there pretty well, really good in fact."

On the atmosphere surrounding the game
"There was a very good atmosphere. There was a lot of excitement."

On Oregon State starting pitcher Dallas Buck
"He did a good job. He pitched like he normally pitches. We hit a couple of balls hard at people and had a couple of chances to get a [big] hit, and we didn't, but he's a good pitcher, and he didn't pitch any different than we expected him to. He pitched very well."

SENIOR SHORTSTOP CHRIS MINAKER
On Sunday's upcoming game
"You can't say enough about how important tomorrow is. Tomorrow is going to be a battle. We're going to have to match the same intensity we had tonight and just perform a little bit better, because as we all know winner moves on and if we lose that's it. That's enough incentive to motivate you, but it's going to come down to performance."
