Berkeley, Ca - The 16th ranked California field hockey team exploded for four unanswered goals in the second half to record a 4-3 victory over Stanford in a non-league game on Saturday night at Maxwell Family Field.

The Cardinal came out of the gate quickly when Julia Drewes scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season at 1:45 of the first half on an assist from Jess Zutz. Nearly nine minutes later, Liz Robinson scored Stanford's second goal with an assist from Jamie Hais. Stanford continued to dominate the match and upped its lead to 3-0 lead when Zutz tallied on an unassisted goal, her fourth of the season.

But the Golden Bears stormed back in the second half to record its 12th straight victory over Stanford. Ashley Glosz scored two of Cal's goals. Andrea Lo and Valentina Godfrid scored the other Cal goals.

The loss dropped Stanford to 2-4 on the season while California increased its season record to 5-2.

Stanford continues its road trip with a Wednesday night game at Iowa.
