Stanford Head Coach Michele Uhlfelder:
"I want to congratulate Northwestern for playing a great game. I think we stepped up to the competition. I thank Northwestern for being a great competitor. I want to thank them for their toughness and their skill."
(on being the first west coast team in the NCAA Tournament) "It's a historical event. When I came to Stanford, my vision was to make the country a lot smaller through lacrosse. We proved that it doesn't matter what your zip code is, you can be great at lacrosse. It's just great for the game."
Senior Attacker Megan Burker:
"We came here saying we were going to play to the very end. I was really proud of how our team pushed them to the finish."
Sophomore Goalkeeper Laura Shane:
"I was really proud of our team. We came in relaxed and ready to play. It was really exciting to be first, but we're going to come back next year and get a lot further."
Sophomore Attacker Daphne Patterson:
"Northwestern was an outstandingly fun team to play against. I think a lot of the lessons we learned will carry on through next year."
Northwestern Head Coach Kelly Amonte Hiller:
"I think Stanford played hard. I think they played well. I also think we played well and we saw some things that we can build on for the rest of the tournament. You always have to bring another level of intensity to the playoffs. I think we brought that and I think (Stanford) brought that."
"Stanford has gotten progressively better. Their goalie has gotten a lot more aggressive and a lot more confident. Their top players really stepped up for them today."
Senior Attacker Sarah Albrecht:
"The Stanford defense was a lot tougher than we anticipated. Their goalie is amazing. We really had to pick our shots and find a way to put them away."
