Seattle, Wa - Three victories by All-American Tabitha Yim in the All-Around, Bars and Floor Exercise propelled the fourth-ranked Stanford women's gymnastics team to a convincing 196.025 - 193.675 victory over Washington in a Pac-10 dual meet on Friday night at Bank of America Arena.
Yim, a seven-time All-American and a junior at Stanford, was certainly Stanford's top gymnast as she recorded victories with scores of 39.450 in the All-Around, a season-best 9.950 on Bars, and a season-best 9.950 on Floor Exercise. Alex Pintchouk added to Stanford's victory total with a first place effort on Beam. Pintchouk, a junior, recorded a season-best mark of 9.825. Pintchouk, who is enjoying her finest season at Stanford, also finished second on Vault (9.825, season-best) and fourth in the All-Around (39.125, career-best).
Overall, Stanford dominated the meet. The Cardinal finished 1-2-3-4 in the All-Around and Bars.
The victory upped Stanford's season record to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the Pac-10.
Stanford returns to action on Sunday, February 4, at California. The next Cardinal home meet is Feb. 9 against San Jose State, Oregon State and Iowa State. The evening of gymnastics will also be "Flip for a Cure," a breast cancer awareness event that will raise money for the Community Breast Health Program, a Bay Area non-profit organization dedicated to providing information and support to people dealing with breast cancer or with breast health issues.
