Stanford Loses 5 Game Match to Cal State Long Beach

The Cardinal lost a close 5 game match to Cal State Long Beach tonight in the second match of the UCSB Elephant Bar Tournament with scores of 22-30, 30-27, 30-22, 26-30, and 13-15.

A strong offensive showing kept Stanford in the match, with three players hitting in double-digits. Senior Matt Ceran had a team high of 16 kills for the match. Jesse Meredith tallied 13 kills, while freshman Ed Howell came off the bench to gave the Cardinal 15 kills.

The team will continue tournament play tomorrow at 11:00 AM when they face USC. They will be playing for 7th place.
