Gold River, Calif. - The men's varsity eight finished third in the final behind Washington and California. Oregon State was behind by open water, along with UCLA, USC and Washington State.
"We are a little disappointed with the men's varsity eight performance, but are pleased to come home with three bronze medals from the nation's toughest rowing conference," Amerkhanian said. "The Pac-10 has won six of the last 10 IRA finals in the varsity eight event."
The men's varsity eight was comprised of Nate Rooks, Silas Stafford, Donny Simkin, Kevin Baum, Mark Murphy, Dave Creighton, Alex Osborne, Ottavio Siani, and coxswain Ariel Dixon
In other results: the men's second varsity eight finished third in the final behind Cal and Washington, and ahead of Oregon State, USC and Washington State.
The men's novice eight finished third behind Washington and California, and ahead of Oregon State, UCLA, USC, Washington State and UC Davis.
The men's second varsity eight included Ben Briggs, John DiCola, Marco Caflisch, Justin Brown, Jeff Cornelius, Jeromy Hoffman, Ryan DuChene, Ogi Zizojnovic and coxswain Graham Carroll.
"It was a first class operation by the Pac-10 and Lake Natoma," said Director of Rowing Craig Amerkhanian about the event.
The men's novice eight includes: Andy Bracken, Alec Levy, Aaron Frankl, Nico Sand, Kevin Gehr, Joe Brendel, Jeromy Hoffman, Scott Runyon and Bobby Pinero.
The men's next race is the IRA Championships on May 31 - June 2 in Cherry Hill, NJ.
