Oak Ridge, Tenn. - The Stanford women's rowing varsity eight boat will compete in the Petite Final of the NCAA Rowing Championships on Sunday after finishing sixth out of six boats in the second of two semifinals held Saturday at Melton Lake. The top three boats from each six-team semifinal advanced to Sunday's Grand Final, while the bottom three will compete in Sunday's Petite Final with the Third Final featuring four teams that did not qualify for Saturday's semifinals during Friday's heats.

"It takes a consistent intensity to compete at this level and the crew learned that today," commented Stanford head coach Yasmin Farooq. "Yes, they've improved upon last year's performance, but I think they were capable of making the Grand Final this year."

Stanford will be competing in the Petite Final (11:45 am, PT) along with Dartmouth, Harvard, Minnesota, Notre Dame and Tennessee.

Stanford's boat at the NCAA Championships includes Carly York, Eva Sheridan, Stephanie Morrison, Bea Gordon, Lauren Hofmayer, Jessi Reel, Kerry Birk, Elle Logan and coxswain Jenifer Brown.

California, Central Florida, UCLA and Washington will compete in Sunday's Third Final (11:30 am, PT).

The Grand Final begins at 12 pm, ET, and will consist of a field of semifinal winners Yale and USC, as well as Brown, Princeton, Ohio State and Virginia.
