STANFORD, Calif.- Stanford shot a final round 309 on Wednesday afternoon at the Margaret Branch NCAA Preview in Albuquerque, N.M., finishing in 17th place overall.

The Cardinal finished the three-day event with a 46-over-par 922 (301-312-309) in a challenging field. Duke claimed the tournament title with a 16-under-par total of 860 (287-286-287) to edge USC by one stroke at 861 (292-285-284). UCLA came in third at 870 (291-294-285), Arizona State took fourth at 874 (295-287-292) while Vanderbilt checked in fifth at 881 (295-298-288).

Stanford was led once again by junior Mari Chun, who finished in a tie for 26th overall with a 3-over-par 222 (69-76-77).

Sophomore Catherina Wang tied for 58th overall with a 10-over-par 229 (71-79-79).

Freshman Rebecca Durham improved as the tournament progressed, recording rounds of 81-77-74 for a total of 232 (+13) to tie for 68th. Fellow rookie Piper Miller placed 83rd with a 20-over-par 239 (80-80-79).

Junior Ki-Shui Liao placed 86th overall, carding rounds of 82-80-79 for a 22-over-par 241.

USC's Dewi Claire Schreefel won the individual title at 15-under 204. She shot a 6-under 67 in the final round to outdistance Duke standout Amanda Blumenherst by four shots.

Stanford is back in action on Monday, Oct. 8, when it competes in the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at Sammamish, Wa.
