STANFORD, Calif.- Four different players found the net as Stanford posted a 4-0 shutout win over Appalachian State on Sunday afternoon, closing out an undefeated three-game conference road swing to improve its record to 6-0.

Once again, Stanford's recipe for success was a dominant offense. The Cardinal, which outscored its three opponents a combined 13-1 for the week, overwhelmed Appalachian State (2-3) with a 26-2 edge in shot attempts and an 18-1 advantage in penalty corners.

Stanford (6-0, 4-0 NorPac) has outscored its opponents 22-5 so far this year through six games. The Cardinal, which has also outshot its foes by a 128-38 count, did not record its sixth victory until Oct. 12 last year.

On Sunday, Stanford received goals from freshman Xanthe Travlos (Staffordshire, England), sophomore Rachel Mozenter (Gahanna, Ohio), junior Caroline Hussey (Houston, Texas) and freshman Jaimee Erickson (Los Gatos, Calif.). Senior Madison Bell (Worthington, Ohio) did the rest in goal, making two saves while recording her second shutout in three games.

Travlos opened the scoring with her third goal of the year at the 22:39 mark for a 1-0 lead, thanks to assists from Erickson and sophomore Marlana Shile (Los Gatos, Calif.).

Mozenter upped the Cardinal's lead to 2-0 at the 26:04 mark, scoring unassisted off a rebound. Mozenter now has three goals on the year, increasing her career total to 10.

Hussey capped the first-half scoring for Stanford at 3-0, converting with 29:45 on the clock. Travlos was credited with an assist on the play.

In the second half, Erickson tallied her first career goal when she found the net unassisted at the 45:28 mark.

Stanford's next contest is Sunday, Sept. 23, at California. The Cardinal takes a break from regular season play and hosts its Alumnae Game on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m.
