Stanford, Calif. - Stanford (7-0) rolled to a 101-62.5 victory over Arizona on a rainy and windy Senior Day at the Avery Aquatic Center on Saturday evening. The Cardinal won five of the six events contested with the lone Arizona victory coming in the "A" Figures.
The Cardinal dominated the trio as Arizona failed to field a team. Missy Knight, Sara Lowe and Courtenay Stewart were the winners with a score of 91.750, outscoring two other Stanford squads.
Stanford took the top two spots in the duo with Lowe and Stewart winning the event with a powerful performance and 91.500 points in their last duo together at the Avery Aquatic Center.
"It was a little setinmental knowing that this would be their last home meet competing together," said Stanford head coach Heather Olson about the All-American duo.
Lowe then outdueled teammate Gayle Lee to take the solo, scoring 92.500 points in the process.
Stanford dominated the team competition with a score of 92.500 points compared to the 79.250 scored by Arizona. Poppy Carlig, Knight, Debbie Chen, Stewart, Taylor Durand, Erin Bell, Corinne Smith and Michelle Moore swam for the winners.
Stanford was also the "B" figures winner, while Arizona was declared the winner of the elements when its one swimmer Dayli Sepulveda had a score of 80.531 that was better than the average of Stanford's eight competitors.
Stanford closes out the regular season with a meet at Arizona next Saturday, March 1.
