Stanford Fares Well At Cal Multis

The Stanford multi-event athletes got off to a good start on the first day of the Cal Multis, Wednesday in Berkeley. In a specialized meet where only the heptathlon and decathlon are contested, Stanford had three athletes compete.

For the Stanford women, Whitney Liehr sits in second place after four events with a score of 2,977 points. Liehr was particularily impressive in the 100 meter hurdles where her time of 14.20 seconds was the second best of the day.

In fourth place for Stanford is Kara Bennett with 2,691 points. Bennett fared well in the high jump where her leap of 5-5 1/4 was the second best of the day.

The lone Stanford competitor on the men's side was Corey Dysick who sits in fifth place after day one with 3,077 points. Dysick's top scoring event was the 100 meter dash where he scored 675 points with a time of 11.88 seconds.

The Cal Multis will conclude Thursday with the second day of competition in the heptathlon and decathlon. The rest of the Cardinal track and field teams will be in action on Fri-Sat, April 4-5 at the Stanford Invitational.
